Across these 15 countries analyzed, users see 5G download speeds that are 5 to 6 times faster than 4G. In every country 5G is much faster than 4G.
Quantifying The Mobile Experience of Group Video Calls
Opensignal has used an innovative approach to analyze group video calling across 75 countries starting from real-world measures of our users' voice and video experience. 5G made a significant difference to this measure and we have also assessed how it varies across the hours of the day.
5G users on average consume up to 2.7x more mobile data compared to 4G users
Opensignal has analyzed our 5G smartphone users' average mobile data consumption in six leading 5G countries and found that in the month of September 2020, on average, they consumed up to 2.7 times more mobile data compared to 4G users.
