5G smartphone users experience 111.8 Mbps average download speed
<span>5G is here, but how fast is it? </span><a href="https://www.mobileworldlive.com/featured-content/top-three/south-korea-nears-5g-landmark/">In the first country to see widespread 5G adoption</a>, South Korea, Opensignal’s analytics reveals the average download speed of 5G smartphone owners is 111.8 Mbps or 48% faster than users with comparable recent 4G flagship smartphones<sup>1</sup> and 134% higher than other 4G smartphone users.
Mobile download speeds in Seoul are 41% faster than Singapore or Sydney
Smartphone users in Seoul experience the fastest speeds in any of the Asia Pacific cities we analyzed. Seoul’s Download Speed Experience score of 56.3 Mbps was an astonishing 41% faster than second- placed Singapore or third-placed Sydney, and almost double that of Tokyo or Taipei.
A big gap exists between the best and worst countries for video experience in East Asia
