For the first time in Colombia, two operators — Claro and Tigo — surpassed the 80% mark in the <a href=https://www.opensignal.com/2019/01/03/understanding-mobile-network-experience-what-do-opensignals-metrics-mean target=_blank>4G Availability</a> metric, meaning our users on both these networks were able to connect to 4G services more than 80% of the time.

In our last report, we saw Movistar starting to assert its dominance, but in six months the dynamics in the Colombian mobile network market have changed. Claro bagged four of our national awards, Tigo won our inaugural Voice App Experience award, and Movistar held on to our Video and Latency Experience awards. But far from stagnating, we've seen some very impressive increases in scores across the board, and with MinTIC auctioning the 700MHz, and 2500 MHz bands to upgrade mobile networks from 2G and 3G to 4G technology, and we expect to see further improvements in our upcoming reports.
