Users in Brazil’s state capitals enjoy 5G Download Speed exceeding 250Mbps
In this new analysis, Opensignal has compared the 5G experience of our smartphone users in Brazil’s 27 capitals — federal capital Brasília and 26 state capitals. While our users across different capitals enjoy average 5G download speeds of over 250Mbps, there are substantial differences between the cities, up to around 150Mbps. We also see large differences in 5G Upload Speed and 5G Games Experience across these 27 capitals.

Switzerland’s regions struggled to see a good 5G signal strength on the 3.5 GHz band
Our analysis shows that our users on each operator saw the strongest 5G signal strength on the 700 MHz band and the weakest on the 3.5 GHz band. While there were small differences in distributions of 5G readings by signal strength categories between operators, we observed more significant differences between Switzerland’s regions.
Benchmarking the GCC 5G Experience — December 2022
Opensignal continues to track the progress of 5G networks using experience data collected from our users across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Across the Gulf ongoing 5G development is boosting the mobile experience, but with significant differences between the individual markets.
Swisscom users had the lowest no signal time and the fastest download speeds in Swiss ski resorts
Ahead of the ski season, Opensignal has analyzed the mobile network experience in the 100 biggest ski resorts in Switzerland. We found that Swisscom users had the fastest overall speeds and 5G Download Speed in the ski resorts and they spent significantly less time with no signal than our Salt and Sunrise users. Also, users in resorts in the Graubünden canton enjoyed faster overall and 5G speeds than those in the Valais canton, although 5G Availability scores showed no statistically significant difference between these cantons.
New 5G spectrum massively boosts Brasília’s 5G experience
Opensignal evaluated the effect of 5G deployments in the 3.5 GHz spectrum range in improving the mobile user experience in Brasília's capital. Users saw an increase of nearly eight fold in 5G Download Speed and a doubling of 5G Upload Speed, compared to pre-deployment period.
